Phocas_Software_logo Phocas Software is a business intelligence cloud SaaS company with global customers and employees. We're experts in solving data problems for manufacturers, distributors and retailers.

We formed in 2001 in Coventry UK. By 2016 we had 1000 customers, hit the 100 employee mark and achieved annual revenue of AUD 22 million.  Fast forward to 2019 and Phocas is thriving. Our headquarters are in Sydney, and we now look after nearly 1700 customers, have 170 people in our team and have increased our revenue by 54% to AUD 34 million. The core product continues to be enhanced, and we also offer a rebates and financial statements solution.

Our co-founder and co-CEO Myles Glashier had the foresight to undertake a baseline culture measure in 2016 to understand better what makes Phocas special. He also wanted to protect and nurture the culture through the planned growth and change of the past few years.

The highlights of the initial OCI survey included recognition of open and accessible leaders who listen, freedom and autonomy for our people, the flexibility of work hours, recognition and rewards for good work and confirmation of high employee engagement. It also drew our attention to some cultural development opportunities.

We addressed the feedback through our people and culture strategy focusing on increased training and professional growth opportunities, the development of leaders and the simplification of our organisation design. All teams have a clear line of sight into a simplified business strategy and are connected to our values ‘Fun, fulfilling and forever’.

The 2019 re-measure showed improvement in all twelve styles in the OCI circumplex. We are particularly proud of the statistically significant changes in the ‘Humanistic Encouraging’ and ‘Affiliative’ styles. They reflect the investment made in the growth of our people and the high value we place on internal teamwork and collaboration with our customers and partners. Further evidence of our cultural improvement is shown in our ongoing 97% annual customer retention rate and consistently high customer rankings in global industry surveys.
